Core Privacy Guarantee: Vitta Vriksha is engineered from the ground up to be completely offline and private. The app has zero internet connectivity, communicates with no remote servers, contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, and stores 100% of your financial records exclusively on your local device.

1. Zero Network Access (No INTERNET Permission)

Unlike conventional finance applications, Vitta Vriksha does not include or request the Android android.permission.INTERNET permission in its application manifest.

Because the application lacks network capability at the operating system level, it is physically impossible for the app to transmit your net worth, bank balances, mutual fund portfolios, expenses, or personal identifiers to Chikati Studio or any third party.

2. On-Device Local Data Storage & Encryption

All information entered into or parsed by Vitta Vriksha—including assets, liabilities, mutual fund folios, budgets, loan parameters, and transaction logs—is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device storage.

3. Device Permissions & Strict On-Device Usage

Vitta Vriksha requests a minimal set of Android permissions strictly to provide opt-in automation. None of the data accessed via these permissions is ever transmitted off-device:

SMS Permissions (RECEIVE_SMS, READ_SMS) — Opt-in

Purpose: Automated expense tracking. When enabled in Settings, the app scans incoming banking and card transactional SMS messages on your device to record expenses.
Privacy: Parsing is performed entirely on your device's CPU. Personal or non-financial messages are ignored and never copied or shared.

Notification Listener (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE) — Opt-in

Purpose: Captures real-time UPI and banking transaction alerts directly from push notifications.
Privacy: Only matching financial app notifications are processed in-memory on-device; non-financial notifications are immediately discarded.

Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)

Purpose: Triggers exact-time local reminders for upcoming bill payments, loan EMIs, and recurring investments that you have set.

Biometrics (USE_BIOMETRIC)

Purpose: Unlocks the app using device hardware fingerprint or facial recognition without ever exposing biometric keys.

4. Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) PDF Parsing

When you import official CAMS or KFintech Consolidated Account Statements (CAS PDFs), the decryption and extraction of mutual fund folios, NAVs, and transactions happen 100% in-memory on your phone using our open-architecture JavaScript parser. The PDF is never uploaded to any cloud processing service.

You have complete control and ownership of your financial records. You can export an encrypted backup file (.vittavriksha) at any time. Exports are handled via Android's native FileProvider share sheet and are stored only where you choose (such as your personal local storage or private backup drive).

Because all records exist solely on your phone, you may delete any single entry, clear all data, or completely uninstall the app at any time. Uninstalling Vitta Vriksha instantly and permanently purges all local databases and encrypted files from your device.

8. Children's Privacy

Vitta Vriksha is a personal finance tool intended for individuals managing their personal finances. We do not knowingly collect or solicit any personal data from children under the age of 13.
